Sewall was the lead site engineer for the redevelopment of a former residential property located on Broadway in Bangor. The former brick home and outbuildings were demolished to make room for a new 23,000 square foot medical office building. Sewall provided local and state permitting, representation at city and public meetings along with the design for new landscaping, parking lot, lighting, sidewalk connections, and new utilities as well as the stormwater treatment structures for the property. Sewall also provided the site layout and coordinated the design for a new electric car charging station to be located at the property. Construction was completed in the summer of 2014.
In 2017, Sewall secured permits for St Joseph Healthcare to begin a full redesign and reconstruction of their Broadway Campus North Parking Lot. The new layout aligned the Center Street entrance with the Broadway entrance and provided a more direct route for ambulance service to reach the ER. The parking lot was reorganized to create a central landscaped garden, new sidewalks for employees and clients, and solar-powered crosswalks for added pedestrian safety. Sidewalk improvements also included new ADA compliant ramps and a walkway extending from the Broadway sidewalk system directly to the main entrance. Design work included traffic and parking calculations as well as drainage design and stormwater treatment calculations.
