Sewall was responsible for the civil permitting design for a proposed 42-megawatt (MW) wind farm including 14 Vestas V112 3.0-MW wind turbine generators. Design included turbine micro-siting, site layout, roadway plan and profile, stormwater management and erosion & sedimentation control plans. We prepared civil site narratives and drawings for submission to the Maine Department of Environmental Protection for a Site Location of Development Act permit.
Once permitted, the farm was reduced to 13 Vestas V112 3.0-MW turbine generators; we were responsible for the final design drawings and specifications for the wind farm construction phase, as well as the design drawings for the transportation route improvements. Additionally, we provided construction administration and inspection services, including submittal review, answering requests for information (RFIs), and regular site visits to inspect stormwater BMPs.
