Sewall Engineering is a full-service consulting firm based in Bangor, Maine, and as of 2026, is a Sevee & Maher Engineers (SME) company.

The 146-year-old company offers a wide range of professional services, including civil and transportation engineering, site evaluation and permitting, surveying, construction administration and inspection,. Our team includes professional engineers and professional land surveyors with expertise in virtually every discipline of civil engineering, including highway and intersection design, traffic and transportation engineering, site design, structural design, and environmental permitting. 

Sewall was established in 1880 by a civil engineering alumnus of Bowdoin College and a citizen of Old Town.  Now, Sewall and SME’s 125+ professionals draw upon each other’s significant experience across engineering and scientific disciplines and from projects across the country  to assist public and private sector clients with projects that range in size and scope from local municipal peer review services to large, multi-year highway design and site development projects.
